"White Christmas" was written for the 1942 movie "Holiday Inn" starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. It received the Oscar for best song of 1942. According to author Jody Rosen in his book White Christmas: The Story of an American Song, the song has been recorded in Dutch, Yiddish, Japanese and Swahili.

I chose this song as the title track for my EP for its joy-producing memories. At the time of recording I was facing a risky surgery that could compromise my ability to sing. Again. I currently have a paralyzed vocal chord due to previous surgery. Its been a long road back to singing and my imminent future was uncertain. I chose to record an EP to celebrate Christmas and to honor the heaven-sent miracle of singing whether or not I was able to keep the ability in my future.

Update: Another miracle--surgery went "amazingly well" and I'm still singing. Yay!
