One Christmas, while searching through a large retail store for a Nativity display that I could give as a gift, I was frustrated to discover only two small religious items amidst a vast display of commercial holiday motifs. I was stunned to learn in speaking to the store's management that the low stock was due to low demand by the consumers, that religious decor was too abundant in post-Christmas clearance remains and so less religious product was being ordered by the store's buyers each year for the holidays.

This warm song, Happy Birthday Jesus, is a tender reminder of what is truly important at Christmastime. Happy Birthday Jesus was written by members of the country group, Alabama, and was first released on their album Alabama Christmas, Vol. 2 in 1996, on the label RCA/Legacy.

Born in Seattle, Andrea Densley is a classic jazz singer. In 2005 surgery left her with a paralyzed vocal chord and a diagnosis that she would never sing again. Years of challenges followed, including the discovery of cancer near her remaining healthy vocal chord. Surgery was delayed to allow the finishing of her Christmas EP.
